Almost Sunset

Just a quick post for today from right before sunset at the Magic Kingdom.

This one was quite the tough one because of the positioning of the sun. I tried to frame it right behind that tree, but it was still a whole lot of highlight. Cinderella Castle was also very dark since this whole image was not shot off of a tripod and was made from only one exposure. I shot this at f/18 in the hopes of getting some starburst action from the sun, but when I got home, I realized that it didn’t do much, probably because of how bright the sun was, the highlights over took it. So, if I could do it again, I would probably have captured this at f/8 or f/9, that way there would be no diffraction from the high f stop, which causes a slight loss in sharpness.

This shot was taken with the Sony a7 and the Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L USM , both of which are available at our Amazon link. Thanks for looking!
