Disney’s Boardwalk Resort

Today’s photo comes to us from the Boardwalk!

I was sitting down waiting for some friends to meet me for a day at Epcot, when I decided to actually take the lens cap off of my camera and try some wide shots of the Boardwalk. I usually struggle here when shooting wide, but I really like seeing the reflections of the clouds in the water while also leading the eye into the buildings by using the hand rail, starting it in the bottom left of the frame. Getting a shot of this part of the Boardwalk with good lighting is only possible during the early parts of the day. In the late afternoon and sunset time, it is much better to setup facing the other direction. In processing, I used the distortion correction in Lightroom to straighten the buildings out, and I also saturated the blue sky and pulled the luminance on the blue down as well.

This shot was taken with the Canon EOS 5D Mark III and the Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L USM lens, both of which are available at Amazon. If you shop at Amazon, please click on the links here in the article to help support the site! Thanks for reading!

Unbelievably impressed with your work. I live near Disneyland and your photography makes me homesick for Walt Disney World. I hope to see more photos of the Walt Disney World resorts — it just conjurs up memories of prior trips and dreams of future vacations. Any photos of the engaging Old Key West Resort?
