Today’s photo is a slightly different take on the Torii Gate in Japan at Epcot’s World Showcase.

The other afternoon I was strolling through Epcot, and decided on lunch in Japan. It was a beautiful summer day in Florida, which meant perfect puffy clouds and bright blue skies. After lunch, I was exploring the Japan pavilion for photos and found myself on the second floor, near Teppan Edo. After snapping a few shots there, I took the stairs on the far side, closer to the way to Morocco. I saw this frame as I turned around from taking the steps back down to ground level. Normally, I shoot the Torii Gate straight on from inside the pavilion, or super wide right up against the water. But, this was a new take that I hadn’t yet captured.  Here, the Torii Gate is framed y the foliage in the Japan pavilion. I think it creates a nice added layer of depth, and also provides a refreshing take on something that is very frequently photographed.

This Torii Gate photo was taken with the Sony a7 and the Zeiss 35mm F2.8 lens, both of which can be purchased over at Amazon. Thanks for reading!

There was actually no HDR software used for this photo. It’s just a single exposure, edited in Lightroom 5. Thanks for reading!
