Magic Kingdom Main Street Vehicles
Today’s photo comes yet again from the 24 hour Magic Kingdom day that just passed, but it is a slight change from the wide landscape view at sunrise.
After capturing the amazing early blue hour and sunrise from within the park, I decided to switch lenses from the ultra wide over to my trusty Zeiss 55mm F1.8 prime to capture some other parts of the park with the gorgeous morning light that is normally not available to us. The Main Street Vehicles are another thing that we don’t normally get the opportunity to photograph here at Walt Disney World, since they do not run too often at the Magic Kingdom. If you don’t make it to the park within the first hour of being open, there is a good chance you won’t see them at all. Seeing as I feel like they add a ton to the atmosphere of the Main Street/Hub area, capturing some of them with some nice light was at the top of my non-landscape shot list. It is key when shooting at this hour to understand where the light is coming from. That happens to be from the Tomorrowland/Storybook Circus area. I wanted a slightly backlit photo here, so the subject is placed where the light is hitting it, but I am physically positioned so that there is a little bit of backlight glow. The long shadows that are a product of the low sun are awesome, and huge shout out to the Cast Member for giving a wave and a a smile. I think it’s the icing on the cake for the photo.
