Prime Lens Day Contest!!
Hello Readers! And welcome to a brand new year here at Disney Photography Blog! We’re super pumped to show you all the great things we’ve got coming down the pike this year, but first we have to take care of some things from 2010.
On December 9th, during our week of meets down at WDW, we held an event called “Prime Lens Day”. We encouraged people to shoot with a fixed focal length lens to test their eyes, and to try and get a little more creative without using their gear as a crutch. We had a nice turnout of what I believe was 10-14 people, and we all had a great time, despite the cold temperatures! I had a few conversations where someone would say, “Man, I didn’t think it would be this hard to get good shots like this!” And that just made my day. It was very cool to see people learning and experimenting while shooting our favorite place on Earth.
So, here’s where the contest comes in. Our friends over at TouringPlans have been kind enough to sponsor this contest of ours and give away some prizes to a few winners. So, we’re going to run the contest through our Flickr pool, which can be found here. I’ve started a thread in the discussion section of the group where you can post your best shot. Just post a medium sized version of your favorite shot from the day there, and your job is done! The shots will then be looked over by our TouringPlans buddies, and some winners will be selected. So please head over to the thread and get to posting! But before you do that, here are a few of my shots from that day, including the ones above, all shot with my Canon EF 135mm f/2L USM lens.
See ya real soon!
