Spring is Almost Here

Hello everyone!  It’s been a long time since I have posted here.  Life has been crazy over the past few months but I’m going to get back in to regular posting starting today!

Spring is right around the corner, starting just one week from today.  I felt this shot was appropriate because of all the flowers and color.  I took this shot on my recent Walt Disney World trip last week.  I chose the low angle for one simple reason and this to hide all the people in the busy hub.  Compared to Disneyland, Partners at magic Kingdom allows guests to basically sit and hang out right on the planter so the area gets really cluttered with guests.  For me, that can be distracting so I wanted to look for ways to hide them during the day.  At night, waiting until after closing is necessary to get the clean shot without people.  But during the day, I found that getting really low was a good way to hide the people sitting around the flower bed.

Another thing I like about this shot is it demonstrates the amazing quality of light found in Florida versus here in Southern California at Disneyland.  The cleaner, smog-free sky gives scenes much better color and contrast and pictures really pop right out of camera.  At Disneyland, being so close to Los Angeles causes blue skies to appear dirty and hazy which often makes it hard to get a nice deep blue sky.  This shot required very little tweaking to get these great colors.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this photo and this post.  I look forward to getting back to regular posting!

I love it! It truly is a nice pic around this time of a year with all of the flowers. It is also nice to see the Epcot flower festival! Thanks for the shot!
