Walkway to the Mansion
Today’s photo is a nighttime shot from Disneyland.
I find that Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion is much more photogenic than the one at Walt Disney World, although I give the full ride experience at WDW the nod, as it has some better show scenes and has better on-ride audio. I took this photo while shooting the park with some of the great friends I’ve made through photography over the years. We had a feeling we were going to be somewhat rushed out of the park this night, so we made sure to start pretty far into Critter Country and then work our way out.
One of my favorite things about Disneyland nighttime photography is the pavement in the park. It tends to be interesting in almost every section of the park, and adds a wonderful layer of texture to the shots. I think Disney realizes how valuable that is, as the pavement in New Fantasyland at Magic Kingdom is a vast improvement over the reddish colored sheets of concrete that can be found in the Hub at that park. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter over at Universal also benefits from highly detailed floors. Who knew they could have such an impact on our photos?
This shot was taken with the Canon EOS 5D Mark III and the Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L USM lens, both of which are available at Amazon. Please make sure to click our links before shopping to help support the site. Thanks for reading!
