Roy Disney and Minnie Mouse Sharing the Magic

Roy Disney & Minnie Mouse Statue in the Magic Kingdom

Today’s Daily Disney Photo is one that was taken today! I was in the parks for a few hours, and this is one of the shots I produced while I was in the Magic Kingdom!

This statue is the counterpart to the Partners statue of Walt Disney & Mickey Mouse down by Cinderella Castle. I think this one gets overlooked, and should be photographed more, and just overall appreciated more. Roy was just as big a part of making everything happen as Walt was, he just didn’t crave the spotlight. I’m glad he’s memorialized here in the park in a more subtle way, which was just his style.

Technical Details

This was shot with the Canon EOS 5D Mark II and the Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6L IS USM lens. The settings for this shot were:

  • Shutter Speed: 1/2500
  • Aperture: f/5
  • ISO: 250
  • Focal Length: 160mm.
